Simena’s Traffic Generators allow network and security engineers, systems integrators, product and software developers to reliably and repeatedly stress their offerings in a multitude of real-world load scenarios without breaking the bank. Up to 10G wire speed (for any packet size) multi-stream packet generation allows users to generate very flexible Ethernet, VLAN, IP, IPV6, TCP, UDP and any custom protocol with custom payloads.
Capture & Replay feature allows the user to capture high speed real-time streams such as VoIP or IPTV that can be stored and replayed over and over again to ensure tests are consistent. The PCAP formatted capture files can be replayed with the same or modified network characteristics. Capable of emulating BGP protocol by establishing neighbor connections to many BGP routers, the Simena Traffic Generators enable users to perform extensive BGP testing by adding, removing or flapping millions of routes on multiple BGP4 IP routers. By generating packets with time stamps and sequence numbers the Simena Traffic Generators also provide comprehensive network performance measurement capability.

Traffic Capture & Replay™
Simena’s Traffic Generator captures high speed data packets and saves them for future analysis or replay at different times or locations. Capturing can be selective by using packet filters and specifying number of packet to capture. Later, captured packets may be replayed as they are or their contents can be modified. In addition, captured packets may be sent at the exact capture speed or at different packet or bit rates. The Capture&Replay feature preserves the quality of data packets even at high traffic speeds for accurate and effective tests of IPTV, Video on Demand, VoIP, and other real-time streaming technologies.
10G Wire Speed Packet Generator
Traffic Generator can generate very customized and up to 10G wire speed data packets by using FPGA based solution. The packet send rate can be defined as packet/second, or bits/second in fixed rate or in bursty mode. Additionally, the number of packets or sending duration can be specified. Ethernet or IP addresses, or anywhere inside the packet, certain data bytes can be randomized, to create more realistic data traffic. The intuitive and easy to use Web GUI makes traffic generation quick and simple.
Network Performance Measurements
Simena’s Traffic Generators also provide network performance measurements on multiple data streams among multiple units. By generating packets with time stamps and sequence numbers, users can measure latency, jitter, bandwidth, packet loss, amount of duplicate packets, and amount of out-of-order packets. Measurement results are displayed in a real-time tabular format. Users can also save the results in CSV formatted files. Simena’s Traffic Generators can perform latency and jitter measurements with 10 nanosecond resolution.
BGP Router Emulation
Simena Traffic Generators and high models of Network Emulators (NE3000 and PTC3000) are also capable of emulating BGP protocol by establishing neighbor connections to many BGP routers and sending all kinds of BGP messages.

•GUI or CLI can be used for BGP emulation.

•Send OPEN, KEEPALIVE, NOTIFICATIONS and UPDATE messages with any custom content.
