Applications

 

  • SSP and STP simulation: The STINGA SS7 Simulator can be used to simulate against SSPs and STPs.
  • SGP and ASP simulation: The STINGA SS7 Simulator can be used to simulate a SGP or one or more APSs.
  • Error Tracking: Comprehensive protocol decoding of all user parts and protocol layers makes it possible to track and search for protocol irregularities. Recorded irregular messages may be regenerated with the protocol simulator. This is a very convenient way of reproducing errors in the network.
  • Interconnect Testing: A comprehensive conformance test suite frqmework based on the ITU Q.78x series test specifications is included with the STINGA SS7 Simulator.
  • Regression Testing: Building script libraries of scripts enables the user to do automated and fast regression testing.
  • Mobile Testing: With support for CAMEL, INAP, MAP and SMS, the STINGA SS7 Simulator may be used for mobile testing against BSCs and MSC/VCRs.
  • IN Testing: Using the simulator the user may build IN messages to perform IN script testing.
  • Call Generation: The STINGA SS7 Simulator is able to generate about 200 calls per second (dependent of the size of the messages to be sent) for load testing.
  • Simultaneous Protocol Simulation and Analysis: Possible to simulate on one side of a test object (i.e. a switch) and monitor on the "other" side.
  • Remote Control: The STINGA SS7 instrument can be controlled remotely over LAN/WAN (like a dial-up connection). E.g. it is possible to control two separate remote test instruments from one local computer using two B-channels on one ISDN Basic Access.
