Features and Benefits

Designed specifically for the VoIP engineer and technician UC Testbook offers an advanced test capability that helps reduce the time spent on the installation and maintenance of VoIP service and products.

  • Small rugged Netbook based test tool ideal for field use.
  • Support for SIP and H.323 protocols provides total VoIP test solution within a single unit.
  • One button testing and stored test profiles allows for easy operation.
  • Designed for VoIP

The team behind Testbook were the pioneers in portable field ISDN testers and understand what is required for successful service and product deployment.  UC Testbook offers the test capability required in order for easy and rapid identification of VoIP related issues and problems.

The VoIP entity replacement mode allows UC Testbook to emulate different VoIP infrastructure components and provides users with the capability of testing and identifying those VoIP services and products that are not operating or performing as required.

  • Network tool suite helps identify connectivity issues.
  • Call Generator tests signalling integrity.
  • Sequential call mode tests quality and capacity of VoIP trunks and links.
  • Multiple emulation modes allow replacement of key VoIP architecture entities.
Up to 30 simultaneous calls are supported through our multi-threaded virtual terminal capability with each terminal capable of supporting both outgoing and incoming calls. Terminals can loop calls or send media (RTP), incoming calls can be automatically answered and through IVR technology call action can be determined.  With the ability to generate and terminate hundreds of VoIP calls with media UC Testbook is the tool of choice.

Intuitive Easy to use GUI

An easy to use intuitive graphical user interface ensures that running a VoIP test is never more than a couple of mouse clicks. Each emulation mode provides a Test Dashboard with a graphical representation of the test in progress; all test controls, key test results, and all within one screen. All emulation workspace parameters including network interface settings can be stored in their own workspace profile and recalled through their own graphical icon.

Protocol Capture and Decode

Wireshark" can run in real time simultaneously with the UC Testbook application in order to provide real time analysis and capture of VoIP protocol events as they occur. UC Testbook can also capture protocol events to pcap files filtered by terminal or trunk, captured data can be analysed at a later time using Wireshark" on UC Testbook or copied for analysis on another device.

Trunk Emulation Mode

Trunk emulation mode is used to test SIP and H.323 trunks between the ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) and the Customers Premise. UC Testbook supports PBX and ITSP modes, either simulating an IPABX /Call Manager or the ITSP Network. This mode is ideal for those that have to turn-up and maintain SIP or H.323 trunks, or need to isolate problems between trunks and IPABX /Call Managers.

PABX Emulation Mode

PABX emulation mode allows VoIP/UC terminals and infrastructures to be tested without the need for IPABX/Call Manager or a SIP/H.323 trunk. UC Testbook can make and receive calls on up to 30 terminals simultaneously, as well as supporting terminal to terminal calls with media (RTP). If you are installing and maintaining VoIP equipment and VoIP infrastructures then PABX mode can help in making the process both quicker and simpler.

 Terminal Emulation Mode

Terminal emulation mode facilitates the testing of IPABX/Call Managers by emulating up to 30 VoIP/UC terminals. Emulated Terminals can both make and receive calls allowing for testing and verification of IPABX/Call Manager installations and associated SIP/H.323 trunks. In this mode of operation UC Testbook can be used to remotely test VoIP installations ensuring signalling and connection integrity and call quality.
